Billy the Split

Privacy

2 August 2026

Billy keeps score for groups of friends. This page says what that requires from your data, in plain words, because a ledger app you cannot trust with a number is not worth installing.

What Billy stores

What Billy does not do

Where it lives

Your data lives on your device, and, once you sign in, on our database (hosted on Supabase) so your circles can sync. Row-level security means each account reaches only the circles it belongs to.

Reminders

If a friend starts a settlement campaign, Billy writes the reminder texts. They are sent person to person, never in a group, at most twice a week, and every one carries a link to the ledger behind the number. You can tell Billy to stop from any reminder page, and it stops.

Deleting

You can delete your account from inside the app (Account, then Delete account). That removes your account and signs your seat out of every circle; the group's shared expenses stay with the group, because the ledger belongs to everyone in it. To also remove expenses you created, delete them before deleting the account.
